Dogwoods blooming

Our wedding anniversary was the other day, so I couldn't help but take a few photos of the dogwoods blooming, b/c they really remind me of our wedding.

Fire Fighter Josh

Josh's preschool took a field trip to the fire station yesterday.  He's still quite fire fighter obsessed, but the superhero world/Ben 10 alien take is creeping into this agenda, so he added his "Super J" cape to his fire fighter costume.

Ben 10 Ultimate Costumes

The current fad in our household is Ben 10 aliens.  Thanks to Nana's online shopping we have added to our dress up drawer.

Skiing

New House

Classic Erin & Dan style, we've bought a new house.  We didn't want to broadcast the news till the deal was done, because it was one of those blink and you missed it sales and we were sorta afraid if word got out that we'd just bought the fixer-uper on the street that others would wonder how we managed to score the deal of the month.  But the deal has closed, so I'm happy to report that our family has bought a new house, just 2 doors down from our current one.  My commute (on foot) to the Outside Inn will go from 30 seconds to 27 seconds.  My mother is beyond excited, because we're staying close (and by close I mean we are living a mere 4 doors away).  Dan's excited because he's getting a man cave and a 2 car garage.  I'm excited because I'm getting a craft room (which will double as a guest room if anyone wants to come visit) and the boys are excited because they'll have a nice big bedroom and plenty of space for all their toys.  Work has officially begun, today.  We are hoping to have the remodeling projects done by spring and move in sometime in May.  I'm excited to share some before and after shots, so watch this space!

Skiing

Spring skiing in February at Alpine Meadows.  We did find it a bit funny that we were skiing slush while the rest of the country was being attacked by a massive winter storm.  The boys are doing great on skis, we had several new milestones this ski trip.  Josh skied down Subway without a leash all by himself.  (Honestly it's seriously frightening because the child doesn't like to turn, slow down or look where he's going).  Ben rode up Roundhouse chair lift and even bigger news, rode up Subway and Meadow chair lift all by himself.  He had been practicing getting on and off on his own and wanted to prove to us that he could do it, so he rode the chair all by himself (I was a total wreck, thankfully I had Josh to hold on to so I didn't get too distracted).  The final photo shows the snowman they made with Nana, complete with chocolate buttons and eyes and a gummy bear mouth.  If you want to see more photos, click here.
