It was a big day in the Thiem Family ski milestones.... we took a few runs with our cousins Mitch and Trevor, but bumped into Megan and Dave and took a lap up Summit before connecting with Dan and Ben. Megan suggested the upper saddle, so we hiked up, took a look over the edge at Keyhole (the run the boys have been obsessed) and somehow Dan decided that they could do it. Ben skied Keyhole while Josh and I skied the Saddle and then stood at the bottom, with Megan, and watched with a state of disbelief as they picked their way through the rocky narrow chute at the bottom. Keyhole is one of the hardest runs at Alpine Meadows, especially with the current conditions (which included a bit of blue ice).
We finished the day with some laps on Scott Chute and God's Golfball, I'm in awe of how well the boys navigate the obstacles, narrow passages and various bushes.
