Ski Race photos

Today's photos are from the Alpine Meadows ski race.  The ski teams had a race amongst themselves and the boys did a great job skiing down the course (despite the fact that they don't ever do gates).  They are both still far more interested in free skiing and skiing challenging runs.

And I finished my day with a glass of wine with Jenn, future blog post in the works.

Family Ski Day

It was a big day in the Thiem Family ski milestones....  we took a few runs with our cousins Mitch and Trevor, but bumped into Megan and Dave and took a lap up Summit before connecting with Dan and Ben.  Megan suggested the upper saddle, so we hiked up, took a look over the edge at Keyhole (the run the boys have been obsessed) and somehow Dan decided that they could do it. Ben skied Keyhole while Josh and I skied the Saddle and then stood at the bottom, with Megan, and watched with a state of disbelief as they picked their way through the rocky narrow chute at the bottom.  Keyhole is one of the hardest runs at Alpine Meadows, especially with the current conditions (which included a bit of blue ice).

We finished the day with some laps on Scott Chute and God's Golfball, I'm in awe of how well the boys navigate the obstacles, narrow passages and various bushes.

Elfy, Treats and South Yuba River

I'm behind with my photo of the day, so here's a double whammy.  The top photo is Elfy, I took her for a spin this afternoon while runing some errands.  Seriously driving that little car is such a joy, I love the looks, smiles and comments she gets.  I dropped off some more postcards at Treats and thought I'd take a photo while I was double parked.  The photo below is a promotional photo for Treats that I'd taken earlier in the day, item not currently available yet.  And of course the boys had an ice cream, who can pass up on sprinkles?

And these are yesterday's photos (actually I took a lot of other photos, but these are the ones I am chosing to share).  So fun to have Kevin, Denise and the boys from Missouri, we took them down to the river to have a look and the boys decided to get their feet wet.  I love the photo above b/c you can see us.

Trampoline fun

Okay, so the one nice thing about Daylight's Savings is that it is light later...  the boys have been having fun on the trampoline the last few days.  Today's photo of the day attempts to capture their boundless energy.  The photo below is a sneak peek for something Dan is working on, any guesses?

lego catalogue

Today's photo of the day (or 4 photos) attempts to capture the sheer joy and excitement over the arrival the Lego catagloue.  They argued over who got to read it at bed time and oohed and ahed at all the cool new lego sets.

Sunday photos

I made it through a whole week posting a photo a day, woo hoo.  We already know that taking the photos isn't my problem, but this has been a fun challenge to document things that don't fall into Outside Inn blog agenda or greeting cards.  So today's photo above really sums up how I spend my Sundays- in the Outside Inn's laundry room.  The photo below is what I ate for dinner, the boys were in Tahoe, so I went for the tasty option of eggs, kale, bagel and a glass of wine.

Sushi in the Raw

Today's photo of the day are some preview photos of an upcoming Outside Inn blog post about Sushi in the Raw, really an excuse to eat sushi with girlfriends, is a good reason for me... the photos were just a bonus.
