I took the bottom two photos of Josh the other day and it got me thinking, "I'm pretty sure I have a number of photos of Josh in a cardboard box..." and after a little digging I realized that I do indeed have a good collection of fun photos of the boys in cardboard boxes. So in the spirit of packing, let's celebrate the good old fashioned cardboard box.

Ben's first cross country event
Today at Wanaka Primary School was a cross country event, Ben's first running event. It was a real treat to see all the little 5 year old boys lined up in a long row and get super excited. Ben was an eager participant, even if he ended up finishing last. He didn't seem phased by it at all, proof that he's related to me and really out to do his own thing at his own pace.

Captains Chair Lift

We had another successful trip up to the ski resort this morning. Ben has turned a corner and is now speeding down the hills, not sure what happened to the timid young man from a few weeks ago? After 2 trips up the magic carpet, we all went up the chair lift. After a cookie and a pep talk we braved a real family adventure- and rode the chair up and then skied over to Captains! Ben got a little scared of the steeper part at the top of the main run, but did great otherwise. Josh's meltdowns were only when we stopped, he'd scream and say "I want to keep skiing." Fearless, out of control speed racing 2 year old! (He went mostly in between our legs b/c he can't stop, but on the flat sections we'd let him go on his own). Here are a couple of photos... didn't take as many as normal- b/c it was a all hands on deck kinda mission.

World of Wells, ESPN blog posting

I'm published! I decided to try on a new hat and see how I'd go as a "roving journalist." I pitched a story idea to Megan at ESPN and she said yes. So I put on my party dress on went out to the World of Wells event here in Wanaka, a fundraiser for the Wanaka Ski and Snowsports club, that spotlighted Jossi Wells and his family. Here's the link to the piece,
