Day #6 of the photo challenge, spring skiing at Alpine Meadows with the family (nice to ski with Miles and take a run with Megan, even if Josh threw a melt down over not being able to ski the narrow rocks on Scott Chute).

Day #5 of a photo a day challenge, I've actually taken far more then one photo today (my very messy craft room, before and after), more photos of spring flowers for an Outside Inn blog post, photos of the local import store and some fun updates on Dan's office project.  But, I'm chosing to share this photo for my photo today... love the time of year when the flowers start to bloom.

veggie box

Day #5 of a photo a day (obviously I'm having a hard time just posting one photo), but today we're celebrating the color and bounty of fresh vegetables.  The top two photos are this week's veggie box from Mountain Bounty.  The photo below is today's juice of day, I liked how it had a gradient look to it.  The receipe was: carrot, celery, sweet potato, orange and ginger.

Cub Scouts Geocaching

Day #4 of a photo of a day self challenge... I wanted to capture our Cub Scout Den this evening while we hid a geo cache near the motel.

Mardi Gras

Today's photo of the day is from the annual Mardi Gras parade, for more photos click here for the Outside Inn's blog post.  With a 5am wake up call from a power outage (downed tree, fallen power line and blown transformer), it's been a long day.  Power came back on at 3:30pm, but we wont talk about all the laundry that hasn't happened and just says cheers, it's 5 o'clock somewhere....

Skiing

If you're me and you're driving up highway 20 in the middle of the storm and you see the clouds parting and the rain falling, you pull over and take a photo.  You even convince the 6 year old in the car to turn off the ipad and get out and look at the rainbow.  My friend Kathy has convinced me to join her in a photo a day challenge for the month of March, so in honor of my attempt to get on track with that project, I'm sharing yesterday's photos, plus a photo from today (that makes sense, right?).

Josh and I spent the afternoon skiing, and Dan and Ben joined us for the last hour, can't remember the last time I skied till 4pm.  The best line of the day was Josh after we refueled with coffee and coffee and  we skied down Scott Chute he said with a big huge grin, "Mom, I skied the whole run with parallel turns, last time I did it I had lots of pizza turns."  He was so excited we did the run again.  And when Dan and Ben showed up they decided we should ski God's Golf Ball (which wasn't very good), but they were still game for the adventure.  We finished with their first run down Gentian Gully and a visit to the broccoli tree.

So in honor of a photo a day for the month of March, the above shot is Dan skiing some great powder turns down South Face off Sherwood Chair this morning.  And the photo below is actually a photo of me (imagine that).
